Who We Are

Brian E. Pitkin, Co-Founder and CEO
bpitkin@denovoproperties.com

Brian brings years of financial and deal-making expertise and experience to DeNovo. After spending several years in private equity and investment banking in Chicago, Brian returned to family-owned Ulrich Chemical, a Midwest-based multi-location chemical distribution business, in late 2003 where his achievements led to a highly successful sale of the company.

At Ulrich, Brian was responsible for the management and growth of company-wide revenue, gross profit and bottom-line profitability. Over several years he grew the business organically from revenue of $57.7 million in 2003 to full-year 2006 revenue of $83.6 million, while tripling its EBITDA over the same period. Brian then negotiated and fully executed the sale of Ulrich Chemical to Brenntag, a $7 billion global chemical distributor, at a value that dramatically exceeded shareholder expectations.

Brian is also the founder and owner of URI Advisory, LLC, which provides financial advisory services to middle-market companies, including advising and managing company sales, management buyouts, private equity capital raising, acquisitions and recapitalizations, among other strategic endeavors
